Founder story
How Acumis started
Our founder spent years at Jasper AI, one of the earliest generative AI companies, where he saw firsthand how AI could transform knowledge work — and how difficult it was to deploy in niche industries where generic tools fall short.
After Jasper, he turned to a personal challenge: building an algorithmic trading bot that could perform consistently across market regimes. That project became a years-long education in systems design, risk management, and the hard parts of autonomous decision-making under uncertainty.
The insight that emerged: the most valuable AI isn't general-purpose. It's purpose-built for one problem, with deep domain knowledge, tight integrations, and real accountability. That insight became Acumis.
DentalDesk was the first application — a problem obvious to anyone who has ever waited on hold at a dental office. The AI receptionist that picks up every call is now live across practices in the US, and we're expanding fast.
